Private equity
In late 2009, AMP Capital made a decision to outsource the management of our Australian private equity funds by appointing Cove Private Equity Pty Limited (Cove Private Equity) as advisor to AMP Capital in relation to these funds, effective 1 November 2009. Cove Private Equity is owned and headed by Greg Smith, formerly head of private equity at AMP Capital, and has been appointed as an authorised representative of AMP Capital. Greg is joined at Cove by AMP Capital's former private equity team directors David Fallu and Paul Readdy. Andrew Windsor remains with AMP Capital to oversee the transition.
Cove Private Equity is co-located and operating from the offices of CHAMP Ventures Pty Limited (CHAMP Ventures), and the three individuals are employed by CHAMP Ventures.
These changes not only preserve the continuity our clients have requested in the management of these funds, but also recognises underlying trends in market demand for private equity.
